Threat to recovery

Decisive Labour action, followed by countries around the world, has laid the basis for recovery. But governments and councils still need to act until recovery is fully established.

Cameron’s Councils too often stand in the way.

Many Tory Councils have bid for Labour’s new investment to create jobs in the Future Jobs Fund and in social housing. Few if any have had the honesty to tell local people that none of this investment would have happened if Cameron had been in power.

Even though Cameron claims to support hard working families, he opposed the fiscal stimulus and Labour’s support for families and jobs. His plan is to let the recession take its course with higher unemployment and lower growth.

But some Tory Councils can’t wait to put the Tory ‘do-nothing’ philosophy into action.
